This course, offered by Minnesota LTAP, provides an introduction to land surveying in general, which allows us to determine the location of points or objects in space. Construction staking is the process of taking information from project plans, and then actually mapping them out on the site where construction will take place. This course will focus on plan reading, basic survey techniques, and marking and reading survey stakes.
The course is being delivered in a hybrid format that includes two elements: online preparatory coursework and an in-person field lab workshop. Students must complete the required online coursework prior to the field lab workshop. The online coursework will be available two weeks before the field lab workshop and will take approximately six hours to complete.
