Research Cycle
The links below are provided to help visitors to this site find any additional information they need that is outside the scope of the LRRB’s activities. The links are grouped into local (Minnesota) and national categories.
The LRRB research process is as follows:
- Ideas are gathered from city and county engineers at the October State Aid pre-screening meetings and throughout the year through the IdeaScale website.
- Ideas are prioritized and developed into problem statements. Some ideas proceed for possible research funding; others proceed for implementation funding.
- In July to August, the LRRB solicits proposals from researchers and consultants.
- In September, the LRRB Research Implementation Committee reviews proposals for implementation funding
- In December, the LRRB Board reviews and selects proposals for research funding.
- A work plan is developed for winning proposals.
- A Technical Advisory Panel (TAP) is formed.
- Research or implementation project is completed.
- A final report or deliverable is published
- An implementation plan is developed by the TAP.
